HOME REMEDIES FOR BLACKHEADS

        Blackheads are small bulges that appear on the skin due to clogged hair follicles. These are a mild type of acne that usually appear on the face but can also appear on the back, chest, neck, arms and shoulders.

          People of any age can have this problem but, most often it is a complication of teenagers. Main causes of these eruptions are hormonal changes during puberty, oily skin and use of cosmetic products. Squeezing of blackheads is not the only way to get them removed, as the skin can get infected. Use of exfoliators and oil-free products can be done but natural, homemade remedies are much better for the removal of blackheads as they are very effective.

Following are some remedies that can be of help to erase blackheads.

Baking Soda 

Two tablespoons of baking soda can be mixed with mineral water to form a paste and should be applied generously on the affected area and gently massage. It should be allowed to dry before rinsing it with warm water. It should be repeated twice or thrice a week. Baking soda is an effective treatment as it helps to clear out the debris and dirt.

Cinnamon 

A paste of one spoon of cinnamon powder when mixed with honey can be applied on the affected area and left overnight. And washed in the morning, for the best results this remedy should be followed every day for 10 days. One teaspoon of cinnamon powder mixed with lime juice and turmeric can also be used as a face cleanser.

Oatmeal 

Two tablespoons of oatmeal mixed with yogurt, and small amounts of lemon juice and olive oil should be applied on the affected areas and left for a few minutes and then rinsed with water. This should be done every day for clear and blackheads free skin. Oatmeal and yogurt do wonders for the skin.

Lemon juice 

A face mixture can be made of lemon juice, salt, yogurt, honey and salt. This natural exfoliating pack can be scrubbed on the affected areas and rinsed with water. The vitamins and minerals present in lemon are very good for all skin types. Lemon juice mixed with rose water can be used as a face cleanser also.

Honey 

Applying some pure honey on the face and leaving it for a few minutes, followed by rinsing with warm water can give us a very clear and bright complexion. The balancing quality of honey is pretty good for both oily skin and blackheads. Honey hydrates as well as tightens the skin pores, giving us a clear complexion.

Fenugreek Leaves 

A thick paste made of fenugreek leaves mixed with water can be applied on the affected areas and left to dry, after a while it should be rinsed with lukewarm water. One of the easiest and simplest remedies for blackheads is fenugreek.

Almonds 

A paste of crushed almond, gram flour and using honey acts as a great skin exfoliator. This is one of the blackhead removal techniques that is quite popular.

Raw potato 

A piece of raw potato can be grated and rubbed on the nose, chin, and cheeks to get rid of the blackheads. It should be left to dry and washed off.

Tomato 

This remedy can be applied regularly to get rid of blackheads. A tomato can be mashed, scrubbed on the affected areas and left for 20 minutes and then left to dry followed by rinsing with water.

Steam 

A natural home remedy to diminish blackheads is steaming the face. Steam helps in cleaning the blocked pores and removing dirt from the pores of the skin. To get a rejuvenating face one should steam the affected areas on the face twice a week
